Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this consultation for?
This support is designed for expecting parents, new mothers, breastfeeding mothers, and families seeking personalized guidance during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and early parenthood. Support is tailored to your family's practical questions, challenges, and recovery goals.
Is this medical care?
No. Consultations provide education, postpartum wellness support, and practical guidance. They do not diagnose or treat medical conditions and do not replace care from your physician, midwife, nurse practitioner, lactation consultant, or other healthcare provider.
For urgent or serious medical concerns, contact your healthcare provider or emergency services.
Can I book during pregnancy?
Yes. Prenatal consultations can help you prepare for postpartum recovery, feeding, newborn care, nutrition, meal planning, and the transition into early parenthood. You do not need to wait until after delivery to book.
Is breastfeeding support included?
Yes. Depending on your needs, support may include general guidance related to milk supply, pumping, feeding routines, maternal nutrition, and common breastfeeding questions.
This service provides educational and practical support and does not replace assessment or treatment by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant or other qualified healthcare professional when specialized care is needed.
Can my partner or a family member attend?
Yes. Partners and family members are welcome to participate, especially for prenatal preparation, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and meal-planning discussions. Involving your support person can help everyone understand the recommendations and feel more confident supporting the parent and baby.
How do virtual consultations work?
Consultations are available by Zoom or phone. After booking, you will receive confirmation and instructions for your session. Virtual support is available across Canada.
Do you support traditional postpartum recovery practices?
Yes. Support can respectfully incorporate traditional postpartum recovery practices alongside modern maternal wellness, nutrition, and practical family support.
Recommendations are personalized according to your needs, preferences, cultural background, and current scope of service.
What languages are available?
Consultations are available in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Please indicate your preferred language when booking.
